Content Description

Designing Metal Wall and Roof Systems, 2024
CEU: 0.125 | CEU Code: FA-EN-181101-0224

Metal roof and wall systems have long been specified for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings because they have a lengthy history of durability, reliability, and resilience. This course examines the attributes of metal panel systems and the design options that make metal-clad buildings sustainable, attractive, and suitable for a variety of applications and environmental conditions.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the advantages of building with metal roof and wall systems in creating durable, energy-efficient building envelopes.
  • Evaluate different panel profiles, metal substrates, and architectural finishes and select the right product for a project's structural and safety requirements.
  • Discuss the testing of metal panel products and recall the features of metal roof and wall systems that make them a strong and impermeable barrier against the elements.
  • Review good design practices and case studies in which metal roof and wall systems were used to create structures that enhance the sustainability and aesthetic of the built environment.

Faculty BIO

Scott has 18 years' experience working in building materials, and 10 years' working in Division 7 metal wall and roof systems. He has worked in various roles including outside sales, business development, specification management, and sales leadership.
